ARP/ESSER Funds

MTSD, Milton Town School District, will be seeking to engage with the community this summer regarding plans for ARP ESSER funds. Please read through this webpage for information about ESSER and to find important next steps for providing feedback on ARP ESSER funds.

What is ESSER?

The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund is a federal formula grant managed by the Vermont Agency of Education (AOE). Non-recurring, emergency aid subgrants are being allocated by the AOE to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) by a formula based on Title I, Part A allocations - Milton Town School District is one of those LEAs. Funds are broken down into three parts: ESSER I, ESSER II, and ARP ESSER (formerly ESSER III). These grants are considered one-time funds.
The purpose of ESSER Grant funds is to support districts in implementing their plans for lifting student learning

What are the different types of ESSER Funds?

  • ESSER I
Known as Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) ESSER funds. MTSD allocation: $276,875
  • ESSER II
