Presidential elections are moments of civic engagement that shape the country’s policy direction for the coming four years. In our country, elections may impact economic, tax, and regulatory policy; foreign policy ambitions; and social issues. Civic participation is an important component of our democracy as is the freedom of expression. Amid the increasing political divide, equally important is the tolerance of different views, including those with which we may disagree.
On November 5, 2024, our Nation’s citizens will be electing our president, senators, and other state and local representatives. Many find these elections to be tense as the hope for certain results are anticipated. If elections are contested, the feelings around the results may intensify.
In the days after the election, our students and staff will enter and we will carry on with school as we do each day. While some will be pleased about the results, others will be concerned. Our focus will continue to be providing all scholars with a high-quality education within a safe, caring, and affirming learning environment. We will give our scholars the sense of normalcy, consistency, and unwavering support that they need.
As a District, we will continue to emphasize our mission, vision and core values. As a community, we all play an important role in making our schools places of kindness, learning and growth. We appreciate your partnership as we collectively support our scholars in their development as citizens in a democratic society.
