Family Welcome Letter 2024-2025

August 2024

Dear Families

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome all new and returning MTSD families to the 2024-2025 school year. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break, filled with memorable moments with your loved ones. As the new academic year begins, we are thrilled to have your family as part of our school community.

Each school year is a time for new beginnings. Our three schools, the pulse of this community, are eager to open the doors and provide all students with opportunities necessary for joyful learning. We continue to be committed to fostering a supportive and enriching environment where every student can thrive, pursue their passions, and contribute to an ever changing world. Our dedicated team of educators has been working hard to prepare engaging and challenging lessons that result in high achievement while fostering strong classroom communities that prioritize respectful interactions and a sense of belonging for all. We are eager to embark on this learning journey together.

We are also committed to productive relationships with families. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential to a student's success. We encourage you to stay involved in your child's education:

  • Attending parent-teacher conferences and school events
  • Regularly communicating with teachers and staff
  • Volunteering for school activities and programs
  • Supporting your child with their homework and study routines

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to the appropriate personnel. We are here to support your family and make this school year a successful and enjoyable one for all learners and their families. What to do if you have concerns.

The MTSD  will also continue to prioritize school safety. We have a comprehensive approach to safety that includes facility security systems, a school resource officer, and developmentally appropriate training and education for staff and students on safety procedures and response expectations for a variety of emergencies. Each school has regular safety meetings and conducts monthly emergency drills. We will also collaborate closely with Milton Emergency Management to plan, prepare and respond to different emergency situations.

The work for achieving our Vision of Learning is an all encompassing journey. One that requires the strategic use of data, evidenced-based practices, and strong collaboration both within the school and with our families and community partners. Collectively, it is our priority to ensure that all students have access to an education that supports their growth and success.

Sincerely,

Amy Rex
