Description
Milton Town School District is seeking a committed and dynamic K-4 Music Teacher to join our dedicated and talented team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the whole child framework, fostering the intellectual and social-emotional growth of all students.
Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills, be knowledgeable in effective and researched-based teaching practices and be highly skilled in differentiation to support the learning of all students.
Position Responsibilities
1. Experience teaching General Music at the K-4 Level
2. Knowledge of the National Core Arts Standards for Music
3. Experience with PBIS, Responsive Classroom, and creating a Trauma-Informed Classroom
4. Exercise open and respectful communication with all stakeholders
5. Implement district policies; follow school practices/procedures.
6. Assume supervisory responsibilities as assigned.
7. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
8. Model professional behavior at all times.
9. Collaborate with other school and district staff members to achieve the district’s mission and school’s annual goals.
10. Provide a safe, thriving and respectful environment for all students.
11. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the building principal or designee.

Requirements

● Licensed in Vermont for General Music or eligible for a Vermont General Music License.
● Bachelor’s degree preferred
● At least 2 years of relevant experience
● Citizenship, residency or work visa
